Golio connects artist with collaborators
to work on projects

Completing projects builds an artist's action-folio: hours, revenue and feedback. Great collaborators put in hours and pull their weight.

How to hire

Golio is built around Projects:

A project is the a plan that is made up of one or many tasks. Any user can create a project.

Producers:

The person who creates the project becomes the 'Producer'. This could be the drummer who books the band practice, the director of a film, etc.

Tasks:

A task could be any role on a project not completed by the Producer. The Producer posts a task and the Golio community volunteers to help complete the task. A well defined task is 'done' at some point (i.e. produce a poster for the upcoming gig.)

Contributors:

Any user can search the site for open tasks. Volunteering is a simple matter of clicking a button. If the Producer likes the volunteer's Golio profile and wants to work with them they will accept the offer. Now they are linked together over the task and project as a Producer and Contributor.

Feedback:

Once the task is flagged as completed the system automatically asks the Producer and Contributor to rate each other.

Your Golio profile:

Your Golio profile holds a summary of all the work you complete as a Producer or Contributor. This includes details on: feedback, hours spent, project work and revenue. It also provides space to talk about your education, goals, weblinks to projects, etc.

Target Funds:

A Producer can assign a target dollar value to a project. These are the funds they believe the project will make. This could be grant money, t-shirt sales, defense contracts, anything. Targets are just that, a target.

Actual Funds:

As a Producer closes a project they are given the opportunity to process the funds through Golio. The producer submits a payment through Paypal to Golio who in turn distributes the funds out to the contributors based on the project share breakdown. This is how Golio is able to confirm that a Producer distributed funds to their collaborators. Like Ebay, it is difficult for Golio to prevent you from making distributions outside the site but without running through us we can not help you build a reputation for paying your Contributors.
